On Thursday, August 15th, The Desmond and the San Diego Food + Wine Festival are teaming up to host the first-ever “The Desmond on the Roof Winemaker Dinner” at the stunning Kimpton Alma’s fourth-floor rooftop. This exclusive event will feature award-winning wines from Justin Vineyards, expertly paired with a five-course dinner prepared by Chef de Cuisine Aldo Negrete.
Guests can look forward to an evening of culinary delights, starting with a decadent Wood-Roasted Octopus, served with Salsa Macha, roasted romanesco cauliflower, Jimmy Nardello black garlic romesco, Marcona almond, and chive, all perfectly complemented by the 2022 Justin Pinot Noir. The main course will feature a Whole Spit-Roasted Bone-In Pork Loin, paired with the rich and complex 2019 Justin Isosceles. To round off the meal, indulge in a Strawberry Rhubarb Crisp, served with Citrus Yogurt Sorbet and Wildflower Honey Glaze, and paired with the 2020 Justin Savant.
Adding to the evening’s allure, Master Sommelier Joseph Spellman will be guiding guests through each wine pairing. Spellman, who in 1996 became the 29th American to earn the prestigious Master Sommelier Diploma, will share his vast knowledge and passion for wine, offering insights into the world of Justin Vineyards and beyond.
As part of this partnership with the San Diego Food & Wine Festival, attendees will also have the chance to win a pair of tickets (valued at over $430) to the festival’s Grand Tasting on November 9th.
